From thrash metal band SLAYER's final show in Oakland to the opening of Christmas in the park, despite being mired in rain the 2019 Thanksgiving week was one for the books. Metal titans SLAYER returned to the Bay Area for the final leg of their farewell world tour appearing at Oakland Arena the Tuesday before Thanksgiving with a diverse bill featuring local heroes Primus, industrial-metal icons Ministry and former Pantera singer Philip H. Anselmo and his group, the Illegals. Christmas in the Park opened on Friday.
